Overview:

SCUF Gaming is a proud and long-standing sponsor of the Call of Duty League. When the work came to us to create a hero sizzle for them and social content pieces we were ecstatic. I wanted to produce a piece that paid homage to the legacy of Call of Duty esports while tributing to the sportsmanship that goes into each of these passionate players. We were able to bring in Miles Ross as a voice artist for this sizzle to deliver the monologue focused on the legacy. We used a mix of archival footage from the previous season as well as fresh footage filmed at Major II in Dallas directed for this piece.

Challenges:

Finding the right words to properly express the depth of esports and ride the fine line between cringeworthy and seriousness is difficult in this industry. Fans of esports are vocal and they are much quicker to give criticism before appraise. Great care was taken to script a monologue that hit the theme of legacy while still being true to the sport.
