2024// WORLD SERIES OF WARZONE GLOBAL FINAL

role: content producer

Overview:

Nothing rounds out a full year of esports tournaments than the World Series of Warzone Global Final. With the inaugural LAN being the year prior, year two of this massive event was certain to be a killer show, and it did not dissapoint. 120 of the best Warzone players in the world gathered in Las Vegas to compete in a massive 5-level stage. The last year’s content plan built on the unique storylines coming from the various personalities in the scene, and this year’s was a more explosive continuation of that. While not being as serious as the Call of Duty League, Warzone gives us a chance to really expose player personalities and have fun at the same time. The entertainment content from the show includes a POI geo-guesser, a player going rogue from his team, and a Frenchman with superpowers. We also crafted up a teaser and show open featuring Miles Ross.

Deliverables:

Show Opens, Player Headshots, Entertainment Content, Event Sizzle, Event B-Roll Coverage, Event Photography

Collaborators:

Activision, ESL FACEIT Group, Esports Engine, Joe Brady, Miles Ross

Challenges:

Media day with 120 players presents its own challenges when collecting everyone’s headshots and compiling them into a 120-person video asset to be used in the show open. Post-production was challenged with the sheer volume of media coming in. An entertainment content set with variations in looks and props was carefully planned out so that we could reset quickly. Covering 120 players while in matches is difficult when they are spread out among 5 stories. Having additional coverage was necessary at this battle royale. Extreme care was taken of the Rat Head when donning it for content.
